6 Games Releasing in August You Won’t Want to Miss

It’s a brand new month and that means there’s a whole slew of new video game titles are coming out. From out-of-this-world exploration to anime action, we’ve outlined the most interesting games for the month of August down below.

Upcoming Games for August 2016

This list kicks off with a game that probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone due to its massive exposure online, but it also reveals a few other titles you may not even know about that are releasing this month. Let’s go ahead and get rolling.

No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky is potentially the most hyped-up game of all time – but for good reason. It’s huge! This science-fiction adventure game drops players in the middle of an insanely gargantuan universe filled with more than 18 quintillion unique planets.

No Man's Sky

Yes, you read that correctly – 18 QUINTILLION. Granted, that’s all because the game generates planets procedurally (similar to how Minecraft creates limitless space for you to build) but that doesn’t really take away from the actual gameplay.

Players get to fly around the universe, dropping down to explore planets, find new creatures, harvest resources to upgrade their equipment, and fend off death from hostile environments and beings that call these worlds home.

While it may not be as gorgeous or smooth as Battlefield, Verdun gives gamers the opportunity to participate in realistic combat centered in the First World War. The game features weapons, battlefields, and attire from 1914 to 1918.

Attack on Titan

Later this month, AoT fans will finally get the chance to play the coveted Attack on Titan video game that released earlier this year in Japan. The game gives players the chance to fly across massive battlefields and take down the infamous titans as their favorite characters.

Attack on Titan Video Game

This is probably one of the most innovative and creative action games to hit consoles in quite some time. The game is based mostly on season 1 of the popular anime series of the same name.

Madden NFL 17

One of the very few titles coming to a range of platforms that includes last-generation consoles is none other than Madden NFL 17. The Madden series has long been a staple for sports game enthusiasts that love to take control of their favorite football stars. This game continues the tradition of yearly Madden releases.

Madden NFL 17

Madden 17 is releasing just as the real NFL stars begin to take the field as a new season of football kicks off this month. Players will get the chance to play as any one of their favorite 32 teams and utilize powerful athletes such as Cam Newton, Tom Brady, Russel Wilson, and Rob Gronkowski in both single-player and multiplayer match-ups.

World of Warcraft: Legion

Yes, even though WoW’s numbers continue to decline year after year, Blizzard is still pumping out new content for the mega MMO. This month fans of the decade old title will be getting the sixth major expansion released for Warcraft.

World of Warcraft Legion

Legion effectively bumps the level cap up to 110 from 100, opens up a new zone known as the Broken Isles, injects a brand class (Demon Hunter) into the game, and adds powerful artifact weapons for each class’ specializations.
